Summary: "A 4th Grade Student Review"

A Masterpiece for Bess by Lara Berger is a geat book about Bess as she breaks a record. SHe is a well liked artists and the never fairies and sparrowmen are just asking for one portait of themselves. Poor Bess has almost all the fairies asking for a potrait of themselves. I gave this book 3 stars because it didn't have as much adventure as Beck Beyond the sea. ~stardust

An early entry in the Tinker Bell-related "Pixie Hollow" series. This volume features Bess, an "art-talent" fairy who finds herself in the center of a whirlwind of activity as (almost) all the other fairies ask her to paint their pictures. Bess is suddenly very popular and finds that she enjoys the attention, but also finds it tiring, especially when the other fairies become overly demanding as well as critical of her work (in a "you made me look fat!" kind of way.) Bess finally has to learn to set limits, and also finds out that doing so can sometimes weed out a few fairweather friends. An okay book, with the usual Pixie Hollow messages of individual strength balanced by social obligations. Not great literature, but a good page-turner for young readers. Summary: "Very Cute!"

I thought this really captured the artist in me. I don't know if I would say Bess is my favorite fairy thou but I see a lot of myself in her she's messy, and likes to paint when wants to. I read this fairly quickly it is somewhere in the mid range for a chapter book not too easy and not to hard but definitely an enjoyable story

Summary: "We LOVE this series!!!"

We own all of this series! Started reading them when my daughter was 4 (she just turned 5 now), and they are age appropriate. Not too scary and always a happy ending. One book only takes us about 4-5 nights worth of reading together. The longer ones are good too "Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg" and "Fairy Haven and the Quest for the Wand", but they are a little bit scarrier than the short books (more appropriate for ages 5-7 I would think).
